Happy Fall!  This week’s bag is full of delicious green things…braising greens, nalo greens, chinese parsely, avocados, and onions and tomatoes.  Here’s a few ideas on what and how to make some great meals.

If you have too many onions, take a few minutes and dice them then freeze them in ice cube trays.  Next time you need diced onions, just pop a few cubes out and you’re ahead of the game.

Braised Greens with Anchovies and Capers–easy and fast!

Tuna Ceviche with Avocado and Cilantro…healthy.  Chinese parsely and cilantro are the same, the terms are interchangeable.

Creamy Avocado-Jalepeno Dip Just in time for Sunday game time!

Meat Loaf with Creamy Onion Gravy perfect for cooler weather dinners

Happy fall everyone!

Cooler temperatures, but still warm breezes…Hawaii is a wonderful place to be in autumn.

While folks on the mainland are gearing up for even cooler weather, we are enjoying cool nights and very warm days, perfect for produce like squashes.  This week we are happy to be bringing new items from Ho Farms:  butternut squash and long squash.  Many of you who are here from the mainland are going to be familiar with butternut squash.  If you’re not, this week’s post will help you get started on trying out this fantastic autumn staple.  Ho Farms is located in Kahuku, and they hope to providing more squash over the next few months.  We may not have enough butternut for everyone this week, so we will provide long squash if the butternut runs short.  We hope you enjoy whichever one you receive, and as always please share your recipes and creations with us!
