This Week’s Bag-Mizuna & Citrus!! January 21st-22nd

January 20, 2015 by Oahu Fresh Leave a Comment

Hope everyone is having a great week!  This week we have some great items coming including mizuna from Nalo Farms and cherry tomatoes coming from Ho Farms.  See you soon!

Cherry Tomatoes – Ho Farms

Choy Sum – Greens Growers

Aquaponic Lettuce – Mari’s Garden

Cosmic Carrots – Kahumana Farms

Mizuna – Nalo Farms

Mixed Citrus – Kamaaina Pland & Land

Swiss Chard – Ho Farms

What to do with the Mizuna??  Mizuna can be steamed, boiled, stir-fried or used to complement other greens mixed together for a salad. When cooked it shrinks to about half its size so it takes a large amount to make a cooked vegetable dish containing only mizuna.  Combine your mizuna with your choy sum for Stir Fried Choy Sum & Mizuna!

Swiss Chard with Carrots & Onions – Super Tasty & Super Easy!!

Swiss Chard with Tomaotes, Feta and Pine Nuts –  Vitamin-packed swiss chard is always a great choice for a healthy meal. It’s full of everything from vitamins C, K and A to potassium and dietary fiber. And it’s delicious to boot!

Happy New Year!! Here’s what’s in the bag! 12/31/14

December 30, 2014 by Oahu Fresh Leave a Comment

It’s that time of year to reflect on the things we’re most grateful for, spend time with family and friends and maybe even have a few drinks to celebrate.  It’s also a time to reflect on the amazing bounty we’ve had from our local farmers this year including eggplant, tomatoes, swiss chard, kale, okra, long beans, taro, citrus, mushrooms, eggs, butter, cheese, coffee, sweet potatoes, and even bitter melon just to mention of few!  So with great joy, here is our final bag for 2014!!  See you next year!

Cherry Tomatoes – Ho Farms

Kai Choy (Mustard Greens) – Leileihua High School

Filipino Long Eggplant – Pacific Gateway Center

Kale – Go Farms

Baby Carrots – Ho Farms

Aquaponic Lettuce – Mari’s Garden

Kai Choy Pork Soup – Kai Choy is similar to swiss chard and choy sum in that it’s a cooking green.  Here is an easy, tasty recipe to make for New Year’s Day!

Eggplant & Kale Parmesan – I love anything parmesan.  Try out this easy recipe!
